About
RECLAMATION represents to us a retrieval of something once known but lost...
…maybe in method, memory, or dream.
It’s about reconnecting to intrinsic body knowledge that existed prior to boundaries of system or instruction. It’s about taking us back to ourselves. The name embodies our spirit and interest in revitalizing wild wisdom while heeding the immense offerings that surround us already. We have always shared our handmade goods with our closest circles: gifts intended to bring joy, nourish, soothe injury, solve ailment.
RECLAMATION is the widening of that circle to community.
We aim for delight and thoughtful remedy. All of our products are made by hand, from scratch (or seed as it were), deliberately in small batches. As a testament, we also use them in our daily lives!
In 2020, we were able to access a more direct line of plant gifts through a land steward position in the Catskills. We began to grow our own food and medicine and deepen our relationship to the rhythms of nature.
We focus on using whole materials, many harvested from what we have grown or respectfully wild-crafted from the land. What is not gathered or produced by our own hands, we source from places we believe practice an honest, conservation-minded ethic. For more information about our processes and plant medicine in general, please see our FAQS.
STAYC ST. ONGE is the formulator, designer, and maker of our products. She is a farmer and land steward. She is also a union craftsperson for film and television, working as a professional makeup artist for over 22 years, a trade requiring discerning competency to the skin and its care.
Stayc came to work with the plants many years ago when she saw their impact shine over the narrow and limiting offerings of allopathy.
She is an abiding and forever student of botany and the medicinal teachings of the natural world. She is also an artist whose work represents deep longing for everything that is out of doors. She holds much gratitude for her elders and teachers, beings of all forms, who continue to illuminate paths before her.
Hobbies include: taking maddeningly slow walks through the woods, botanical drawing, studying plant and people relationships, kissing chickens (or really any animal), solving puzzles, building stuff from found objects.
